Free EKG Screenings and Blood Pressure Checks on February 6
Know Your Health Now to Provide No-Cost Screenings on National Wear Red Day,
In Recognition of American Heart Month
Huntington Woods, Mich. – January 28, 2015 – According to the American Heart Association, 1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke each year. In an effort to help all people become more empowered about their own heart health, Know Your Health Now – which provides high-quality preventative health screening and diagnostic imaging exams – is offering free electrocardiogram (EKG) screenings and blood pressure checks on February 6, National Wear Red Day.
These screenings, which are non-invasive, will take approximately 20 minutes and will be conducted from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Know Your Health Now offices, located at 26711 Woodward Avenue, Suite LLB, in Huntington Woods. Participants will receive a copy of their EKG and blood pressure readings, which can be taken to a primary care physician or specialist for more detailed discussion on how the tests’ results may impact future health decisions.
“Most ‘sudden’ cardiac death involves heart conditions that could have been detected,” said Cindy Valentine, RDCS, president of Know Your Health Now. “Through these free screenings, our goal is to empower as many people as possible with basic knowledge about their heart health, which can be used as a starting point for further discussion with their doctors. When people are aware of their cardiovascular health, they’re able to make smarter, better informed decisions about their health care and their lifestyles – before those choices are made for them.”
Participants can easily make an appointment for these free screenings by calling (855) 559-5969 or by scheduling online at http://www.knowyourhealthnow.com/schedule and selecting “National Wear Red Day Special.” Additionally, Know Your Health Now will offer to everyone – regardless of participation in the free screenings – a 20% off discount for any of its more comprehensive preventative screening packages purchased on February 6, to be conducted that day or in the future.
